The Thursday Club of San Diego

The Thursday Club of San Diego was founded in 1921 to promote social, educational, cultural, and civic activities. In 1927, the Club received a deed of property in the Sunset Cliffs area from Mr. R. E. Mills of the Pantages-Mills-Shreve Company. Ground was broken for a clubhouse that year, and in 1928, the project was completed. Today, the Clubhouse is renowned as a beautiful San Diego landmark.

Since 1921, The Thursday Club has raised over $1,000,000 for numerous philanthropic organizations in the community.

Members of The Thursday Club are very proud of the Club's heritage and have volunteered many hours and made generous contributions to aid growth and development throughout San Diego County.

Located above Sunset Cliffs in beautiful Point Loma, our Clubhouse surrounds you with charm and ambiance. The clubhouse and gardens are available to rent for special events. Whether you're planning a small gathering or a large gala, The Thursday Club offers an unforgettable venue for your special day.

The Thursday Club Foundation was created in 2004 to carry out the charitable activities that are connected with The Thursday Club.

In recent years The Thursday Club Foundation has given support to The San Diego Aerospace Museum, The Old Globe Disabled Services Advisory Council, Inc, Friends of Balboa Park, The Municipal Gym, ARCS, Children’s Dental Health Association of San Diego, Urban Corps, St. Paul’s Retirement Home Foundation , Goodwill Industries of San Diego County, Integrated Life Skills, Burn Institute and Voices for Children, among others.

The Thursday Club Foundation is a 501 (c) (3) Corporation.
